Due to political circumstances, King David chose to reside in Jerusalem. At that time, the tabernacle of the vision, the portable sanctuary established by Moses under God's directive, was located at Nomba, or possibly at Gabaon. However, the most sacred part of this temple, the ark containing the tablets of the law inscribed by God, had been moved from the temple due to unfortunate events and was housed at Cariathiarim, in the residence of Amminadab.
