Let no one be troubled by the apparent inconsistency in the book of Kings, where Benaaiah is referred to as the chief officer of the court and the king’s relative (2 Sam. 8:18), while here he is designated as a priest. Both titles coexist harmoniously. However, it is important to note that the title referred to here pertains to the priestly lineage, rather than the royal lineage.
