The Lord issued a decree against Ahaziah through the prophet Elijah. However, Elijah did not approach him directly but conveyed the message of divine judgment in written form. This reveals that both Asa and Jehoshaphat had not been completely cast aside by God; although they may have faltered in certain aspects, they also found favor with Him in many respects. Joram, on the other hand, was held accountable for abandoning the paths of his predecessors.
