One could argue that in the restoration of Moses' tabernacle and Solomon's temple, not just the priests and the congregation, but God Himself was victorious, filling the sanctuary with His glory in the form of a cloud and sending heavenly fire to consume the offerings. Should we long for such a tremendous occasion? Certainly not. Those were times of tangible manifestations and miraculous signs. We learn that “Blessed are they that have not seen, and have believed” (John 20:29). Today, the radiant cloud of God’s grace envelops not the physical eyes but the hearts of the faithful; the fire of divine love ignites, not just lambs, but the spirits of the humble. The worthy experience this truth, even if the unworthy remain blind to it.
