The value of graciousness and heartfelt communication has been demonstrated not only among ordinary individuals but also among rulers. The detrimental effects of prideful and scornful words have been evident, often weakening authority and even threatening the stability of kingdoms. If someone has gained the approval of the populace through wise counsel, commendable actions, faithful service, and a commitment to their duties, they will certainly attract profound affection from the people, who may prioritize that individual's well-being above their own.

Consider King David, who mirrored Moses and was chosen to lead the people. He exemplified kindness, humility, and diligence, remaining approachable to all. Prior to his coronation, he willingly presented himself as a sacrificial offering for the welfare of the nation. Once he ascended to the throne, he shared in the struggles of military life, showing courage in warfare, compassion in governance, patience in disputes, and a readiness to absorb grievances rather than inflict them. David was so benevolent that he was called to kingship in his youth, despite his reluctance, and even when he attempted to resist, he found himself compelled to accept it. In his later years, his followers implored him to refrain from engaging in warfare, preferring to face danger themselves rather than risk his safety.
