The liberty to have multiple wives and concubines is appropriately limited by the perfection of the gospel as we approach the end times, viewing such practices as less essential for humanity's growth. Even prior to Christ's arrival, the blessing encapsulated in the creation mandate was meant to endure, as seen in the command, ‘Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth’ (Gen. 1:28). Thus, it was fitting that from this source of human fertility, which was beneficially preserved in the synagogue according to the needs of the time, the blossoms of angelic purity should flourish and the sweet fruits of moderation should emerge within the body of Christ.
