Jerome of Stridon

4th centuryChurch Father

When Arioch informed Daniel about the situation, Daniel approached the king and requested additional time to offer his interpretations. He then returned to his home and shared the matter with his friends Ananias, Mishael, and Azariah. Daniel seeks time not to unravel the mysteries through his own understanding, but to earnestly pray to the Lord who holds the mysteries. By involving Ananias, Mishael, and Azariah in his petitions, he emphasizes the importance of communal prayer, acknowledging that he does not rely solely on his own abilities, and that the prayers of those facing the same peril may be united.

Theodoret of Cyrus

5th centuryChurch Father

In the account, Daniel returned to his home and shared the message with his companions Ananias, Azariah, and Mishael.
