God desires for us to take delight in the happiness of the celebrations: that you may find joy in your feast, He states, you, your son, your daughter, your servant, your maidservant, the Levite, the sojourner, the orphan, and the widow who reside in your towns. But what kind of joy is He referring to? It is the pure, genuine, spiritual joy, the joy and contentment that arise from righteous actions. Engaging in prayer, offering praise, singing psalms, interpreting the Holy Scriptures, reading the Church's literature, sharing in spiritual discussions, showing compassion to the needy, and performing other virtuous acts—these constitute true joy. Let us reflect on the feast.
