Since our devotion to God is not based on our own righteousness but rather on our indulgence in worldly desires and the act of sin, He allows us to become subjected to the toil and labor of our adversaries, as predicted by Moses.
Because thou didst not serve the Lord thy God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things:
