These are the ecclesiastical and civil laws that Moses received from the Lord on Sinai on the same day He proclaimed the Ten Commandments. The following morning, at God's instruction, Moses communicated these laws to the people, urging them to uphold them faithfully in the land that had been promised to them as their inheritance.
