The Lord no longer instructs that the three days' absence must be requested, but instead commands Pharaoh to permit the children of Israel to depart from his land. Moses, troubled by the Hebrews’ loss of faith in him, cries out to the Lord and hesitates to approach Pharaoh. It is not simply a fear of Pharaoh that prevents him, but rather a fear of inadequacy. The Lord perceives the uncertainty in Moses' heart and, to strengthen him and affirm Aaron's faith, He manifests His presence to both of them, as indicated in the following verse. Additionally, this verse reappears at the conclusion of the chapter, establishing a connection between this segment and the beginning of the miracles narrative.
