Once more, Scripture states that a brother cannot rescue, nor can any man truly save another. Can he offer God a ransom for his own life (Psalms 48:8)? There shall be no one, it is declared, to redeem a soul that has perished due to his own negligence, despite the presence of a brother, a father, or a mother. And what do I mean by brother, father, and mother? Even the most righteous individuals, who have gained significant boldness before God, shall be unable to assist us if we remain careless. It is noted that if Noah, Job, and Daniel find themselves in this position, their sons and daughters will not be saved. Pay attention to the weight of this warning and to the examples of righteousness presented in Scripture.

These very righteous individuals were once instruments of salvation for others: Noah saved his wife and sons when the dreadful flood engulfed the earth; similarly, Job served as a remedy for others; and Daniel rescued many from death when the tyrannical king Nebuchadnezzar, compelled by certain supernatural events, ordered the execution of the Chaldeans, wise men, and sorcerers (Dan. 2:11).
