Abraham quickly arranged to purchase the burial site, even though it was offered to him at no cost. He did this so that we would not have to create tombs for our loved ones in distant lands, but rather in our own. Often, when land is sold, the burial plots are included as well. This motivated Abraham's actions; at that time, there were no temples dedicated to God where the remains of the faithful could be laid to rest.

This cave, situated near the oak where Abraham experienced the vision of the Holy Trinity, faces Mammon. It is referred to as Suguba due to the presence of two chambers within: one designated for the interment of men and the other for women. Prior to Sarah’s burial, no one had been laid to rest in this cave. Here, Abraham honored the body of his beloved wife, Sarah, by burying her, and subsequently, he was also interred there. Isaac, Rebekah, Jacob, and Leah were likewise laid to rest in this sacred site.
