When Moses passed away, it was Jesus who took charge, and at the conclusion of the law, our true Sovereign, Christ, assumed authority over all creation. Thus, Jesus, as a precursor to the Lord, spoke to the people at the Jordan, saying, "Prepare food for the journey, for after three days you will cross beyond this Jordan." On the third day, dear brethren, we acknowledge the profound mystery of the Holy Trinity. What sustenance must we gather to reach this third day? It appears to me that this sustenance signifies faith, for it is through faith that believers come to embrace the Trinity and the sacrament of baptism. Consequently, what Joshua proclaimed to the people then, the true Jesus now conveys to His followers through His ministers.

For what does it mean when He says, "Prepare yourselves food for the journey, for after three days you will cross beyond this Jordan," if not the reception of the sacrament of the Trinity? Once the Jordan was traversed, it symbolized the administration of baptism, and the Israelites then entered the promised land. It is indeed true, beloved brethren, that unless one experiences the sacrament of baptism, they will not glimpse the land of true promise, which is eternal happiness.
So Jesus instructed the people, "Prepare for yourselves food for the journey." Today, the Lord Jesus Christ, if you heed His words with willingness, speaks to you, saying, "If you desire to follow Me, gather food for the path." This sustenance consists of the good works that accompany us as the nourishment of faith for our journey toward future joy. Therefore, consider this, brethren: if each person does not ready themselves with food, they will be unable to follow Jesus as He enters the promised land.
