She refers to three days rather than three nights, as her spirit was uplifted. What does she proclaim? 'And afterward you shall proceed on your journey. And do not travel through the plain,' she advises, 'but ascend the mountain. For the faith of the Church rests not in the valleys, but is established upon the heights. In time, Jericho will indeed fall to Jesus, yet this woman of ill-repute will remain unharmed, for the Lord declares: I will speak of Rahab, meaning that on the day of judgment I will remember her who welcomed My messengers.
