The adverse results of the initial two conflicts, where a small number triumphed over a large crowd, did not compel the Israelites to surrender. Four hundred thousand valiant men faced off against twenty-five thousand from the tribe of Benjamin, alongside seven hundred skilled warriors from the Gibeonites. Despite having lost two encounters, Israel, filled with courage, maintained their belief in eventual victory and held fast to the assurance of divine justice.
