All your attempts to rejuvenate the land will be fruitless. The earth will fail to produce its crops, and the seeds you have sown will not return to you, compelling you to seek nourishment from the fruits of trees, yet even the trees of the field will not bear their harvest. The prophecy of famine was realized during the reign of Ahab, as foretold by the prophet Elijah (1 Kings 17:1; 1 Kings 18:1). Additionally, a seven-year famine occurred during the reign of Ahab's son Joram, as declared by Elisha (2 Kings 8:1).
