Why was the tribe of Judah, a royal lineage, larger than all the other tribes? Even though only one from this royal tribe reigned, the tribe of Levi was composed entirely of priests, with some serving as ministers and others assisting them. The tribe of Judah was granted a greater number, not only as a blessing from the Lord Christ, who was born of this lineage in human form, but also to ensure that those who rose to kingship from this tribe would have ample support from their fellow tribesmen. Additionally, this connection established the priests closely alongside the royal tribe, as the tribe of Judah was given a position at sunrise, with the priests linked to it along with the tabernacle, while to Dan was assigned the northern region.

It is stated, "From the face of the north shall the wicked burn against all that dwell on the earth" (Jeremiah 1:14). In Jacob’s blessing (Genesis 49:16-18), it was foretold that a destroyer would arise from the tribe of Dan, who would claim the title of Christ, but would misrepresent this name and seize what was not rightfully his. It makes sense that Judah was designated to the East; even the divine prophets proclaim regarding the Lord Christ, "Behold the man, the East is His name" (Zech. 6:12); and, "To them that fear Me shall the Sun of righteousness shine, and healing in his wings" (Mal. 4:2); as well as, "To them that sit in darkness ... and in the shadow of death, light will shine upon them" (Matt. 4:16).
