One Church Father comments on this verse

Cyrill of Alexandria

5th centuryChurch Father

The priest serves as the intermediary who presents first the sin offering, followed by the burnt offering, and lastly the ram as a sacrifice for salvation. Since Christ acts as our advocate, leading us to God the Father, we will find acceptance as we lift prayers for our sins and seek forgiveness for our past wrongdoings. Consequently, we will be spiritually presented as a burnt offering, meaning we will be completely and utterly set apart and consecrated. We will dedicate ourselves to God with a pleasing aroma, not divided between Him and worldly matters; for everything that is offered as a burnt sacrifice is entirely consumed by the flames.
