It is unjust to be swift in rejecting the sinner while being reluctant to embrace the penitent; to be quick to condemn yet cruel in healing the suffering. As Scripture notes, Their feet run to evil and hurry to shed blood. However, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ embodies the path of peace, teaching us, Forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you (Luke 6:37-38).

Vissarion (Nechaev)

These statements appear in Isaiah (Isaiah 49:7) and are echoed by Paul (Romans 3:15), both expressing a condemnation of the troubling moral condition of the Jewish people. When Solomon cautions the young man against following the path of the wicked, he clearly indicates that entering into this way would make it challenging to halt one's progression, as the wicked advance quickly on this route. The young man, swept along by their influence, may find himself incapable of regaining his bearings to understand the extent of his fall. He will soon come to the realization that he has strayed too far down the path to which he surrendered himself, and it will be too late for him to turn back.
