Andrew of Caesarea

6th centuryChurch Father

The false signs performed by demons will incite those who have believed them to wage war against the day of God, great and most radiant, the Judge of the living and the dead (cf. Joel 2:11).

On that day, utterly defeated, they will uselessly lament their former error.

Borodin P.M.

19th centuryChurch Father

The frog is taken as an image of the evil spirit: an earthbound and twilight creature, giving off a poisonous slime that causes painful irritation at the touch.

These spirits will show men false signs and wonders, by which they will arm those who believe them for war against God.
