In the end, Solomon ascended to the throne both through birth and inheritance during the reign of David (refer to 2 Kings 12:24, 3 Kings 1:32-39). The One promised was destined to arise after the passing of David, as Scripture states, "When your days are fulfilled, and you sleep with your fathers, then I will raise up from your seed the One who will be from your womb, and I will prepare his kingdom." Furthermore, Solomon's reign commenced while David was still living, and it is recorded that when news reached David about Solomon's kingship, he worshipped God from his bed, proclaiming, "Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who today has given from my seed one who sits on my throne, and my eyes see it" (3 Kings 1:48). Yet, even at that time, Solomon stumbled into error and sin, illustrating that all these promises ultimately pertain to Christ.
