It is important to acknowledge that Nathan the prophet, Ahijah the Silonite, and Joel, who delivered the judgment upon Jeroboam, authored their own writings. The scripture indicates, “The other words of Solomon, the first and the last, are not these written in the words of Nathan the prophet, and in the words of Ahijah the Silonite, and in the visions of Joel the seer, against Jeroboam the son of Nebat.” Additionally, we learn that the man of God who instructed that the altar at Bethel be destroyed, and who faced a lion's attack for disobeying God's command, was named Joel.
