The mixture consisted of only flour and water, unfermented, which the people brought along as sustenance during their journey. The term kvashnya refers to the containers used for blending this unleavened mixture. Presently, one can observe the practice of binding items in garments among the Bedouins of Arabia, who create a pouch from their cloaks by tying a knot at the back, utilizing it as a travel satchel.
