Miriam, the sibling of Moses, positioned herself by the riverbank to observe the fate of the infant placed in the basket. Her trust was in God and the child's beauty, believing that the first person to discover the basket would rescue the baby from peril.

The sibling of Moses, known as Mary (or Miriam), is acknowledged in Hebrew tradition as the eldest daughter of Amram. She was a young woman of marrying age at the time of Moses' birth. It is believed that she possessed the prophetic gift, and tradition holds that Amram, who had previously separated from his wife Jochebed, was reconciled with her due to Miriam's prophecy about the arrival of a son.
