The pole that stretches from the top edge of the boards to the opposite edge of the tabernacle, measuring ten cubits in width, signifies a strong foundation bridging both sections of the boards. Consequently, this portion of the tabernacle was supported not by the boards themselves but by the pillars, ensuring that it was secured as effectively as the other section and able to withstand any winds that might arise. Should you seek to understand this mystery of the bar’s significance, it undoubtedly symbolizes our Redeemer. He traversed from one boundary to another, as He initially chose the Jewish people to offer Himself as a propitiatory sacrifice for the salvation of many nations.

Thus, He is rightly referred to by the prophets as the cornerstone (Isaiah 28:16) and can also be seen in the Law as the supporting beam (1 Pet. 2: 4-8), which sustains the structure of the Tabernacle made from imperishable timber, representing the elect souls untouched by corruption.

The term "inner pole" is somewhat ambiguous. It is evident that the vertical bars were secured along their length by crosspieces that were threaded through the rings. Most scholars suggest that the crosspieces were each half the length of the central pole, which was meant to be 60 feet long, and were not attached at the upper and lower ends of the bars. Two shorter poles, each measuring 30 feet, were inserted through two rings at both the top and bottom. As indicated by various translations and interpretations, the central pole was positioned within the framework, meaning it was placed into a groove cut along the entirety of the wall's framework.
