In verse 21 of this chapter and verse 30 of Leviticus chapter 5, it is mentioned that following the offering, ‘Moses took of the anointing oil, and of the blood which was upon the altar, and sprinkled upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him: and so he sanctified Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon his garments with him.' The reference to the sons of Aaron consistently refers to the priests, illustrating that the holy oil was poured upon both them and their vestments.

Many interpreters contend that Aaron received the primary anointing and consecration of oil as the High Priest individually; subsequently, he was anointed again alongside the other priests, who were also dedicated, though they did not attain the same elevated consecration. For details regarding the chiton, girdle, and bands, one may refer to the previous chapter.
