Jerome of Stridon

Our Lord arrives among the Jewish people, sent by the Father to proclaim freedom to those held captive, so that the scripture might be realized: “Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast taken captivity captive, thou hast given gifts to men” (Psalm 67:19).

Theodoret of Cyrus

5th centuryChurch Father

When addressing them, refrain from expressing your own thoughts; instead, convey My messages and deliver what I instruct you. Perhaps they will feel remorse for your efforts and be unsettled by My warnings. However, the presence of uncertainty, as I have mentioned (Ezek. 2), does not indicate a lack of knowledge, but rather stimulates the pursuit of liberation.
