One Church Father comments on this verse

Jerome of Stridon

4th centuryChurch Father

And to the remaining tribes: from the eastern boundary to the western boundary, Benjamin will be one. Beyond the border of Benjamin, from the eastern point to the western point, Simeon shall be one. Further past the border of Simeon, extending from the eastern point to the western point, there will be Issachar one. Beyond Issachar’s boundary, from the eastern side to the western side, Zebulun shall be one. Continuing beyond Zebulun’s edge, from the eastern border to the seashore, Gad will be one. From Gad’s border to the southernmost point at noon, the boundary shall reach from Tamar to the waters of Kadesh, the inheritance by the great sea. This is the land that you shall distribute to the tribes of Israel by lot, and these are their territories, says the Lord God. The word "one" signifies inheritance, possession, or heritage with reference to the five and seven tribes, although Aquila and Symmachus translate it as a term denoting limit.
