John Chrysostom

4th centuryChurch Father

The possessions of the patriarch grew significantly, and ‘Lot ... also had small and large livestock’. It is possible that the patriarch, in his generosity, shared some of his wealth with his nephew, while others may have offered gifts to him out of reverence for the patriarch.

Dimitri of Rostov

17th centuryChurch Father

In a similar manner to Lot, who experienced the abundant grace of God's favor, the blessings of the Lord were generously bestowed upon him.
