John Chrysostom
As I reflect on the blessings I've received with your presence, you may offer whatever compensation you desire for yourself, and I will gladly accept. Let us understand the true meaning of humility and not overlook this important truth. Notice how the just man did not seek recognition or reward for his efforts; he simply said, ‘Give my wives and my children, for whom I have labored, and I will depart.’ In acknowledgment of the profound humility displayed by the just man, Laban himself states, ‘Declare what reward you wish from me, and I will willingly provide it.’
