The Church Fathers on this verse

One Church Father comments on this verse

John Chrysostom

4th centuryChurch Father

If you desire, "send one of you to fetch your brother," yet until his arrival, you shall remain confined. When he comes, it will be revealed if you are speaking truthfully, and then you will be liberated from all doubt. However, if this does not occur, it will be evident that you are deceivers and that your purpose for coming here is suspicious.
