As the prophetic testament draws to a close, the tone of Jacob's discourse shifts dramatically. It is no longer filled with fervor, gravity, or celestial majesty; it resembles a lifeless body devoid of spirit. The Lord, who once conveyed His messages through the lips of this aged patriarch, has discontinued His profound communications: the divinely inspired prophet falls silent, and the weary dying man begins to utter his final wishes: ‘I implore you,’ were Jacob's last words, ‘to my relatives; inter me in the cave located in the field of Ephron the Hittite. There lie Abraham and Sarah; there rest Isaac and Rebekah; and there I entombed Leah.’
