The Church Fathers on this verse

One Church Father comments on this verse

Jerome of Stridon

4th centuryChurch Father

I will allow your riches and treasures to be seized without cost because of all your transgressions and iniquities. I will lead your adversaries from a land you do not know, for my anger has ignited a fire that will rage against you. He declares that all your possessions will be granted to your foes at no charge, due to the sins you have committed throughout your territory. For this reason, I will bring your enemies or compel you to be subservient to the land of the Chaldeans, for my anger, once kindled, will blaze against you and cannot be quenched.
