Consequently, they have elevated themselves and amassed wealth, becoming indulgent and complacent, while significantly ignoring My words. They have failed to uphold justice, neglecting the cause of the orphan and overlooking the plight of the impoverished. “Shall I not punish for this, saith the Lord? Shall not My soul take vengeance on such a people?” It would take considerable time to detail every omission from the LXX. Those who form alliances in wickedness and celebrate the vulnerability of others have exalted themselves and enriched their lives through these actions. Thickened and indulgent, as indicated in the scriptures, “But Jeshurun grew fat and kicked” (Deuteronomy 32:15).

They have disregarded My commands, for, in their false sense of security brought by their wealth, they utter what the Gospel records: “O soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry” (Luke 12:19). However, they fail to recognize the harm they do to themselves, and in their contempt for others, they do not consider the judgment of God. They look down upon the orphan and the needy, although the LXX mentions widows, which differs from the Hebrew text where the term "ebionim" refers to the poor, not widows. The reminder, “Shall I not take account of this, saith the Lord? Shall not My soul take vengeance on such a people?” has already been expressed previously.
