Again, as recorded, at that time, Asor fell into captivity, his king was slain by the sword, and every living being within was destroyed. This occurred because Asor was the former ruler of all nations. Thus, it was understood that those who achieved completeness and who, through thoughtful deliberation, were able to transcend material existence and worldly concerns, were exemplified in the sacraments, wherein it is proclaimed that our true Savior, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who triumphs over evil forces and is the inheritor of grace, at the time of His Incarnation through the Cross, captured sin and its monarch—the devil.

For sin once held dominion over all, as noted in Romans 5:21, and was vanquished, as stated in 2 Thessalonians 2:8, by the command of His mighty word (Hebrews 1:3), annihilating all that exists within it. This includes the passions that reside in us and the malevolent and distorted thoughts that arise from them, allowing that sin could find no place to dwell or operate in those belonging to Christ, who live in accordance with His teachings.
