Theodoret of Cyrus
The account of Jabin, the king of Asor, appears in the narrative of Joshua. If Joshua defeated him (Hebrews 11:10), how could he later rise against Israel after a significant period? It is likely that there was another Jabin during Joshua's time, and another in the present, both sharing the same name and ruling the same territory. The latter might have been the son of the former, as it is common for many to carry their father's name. For instance, the first son of King Constantine was named Constantine as well. Additionally, in the story of Jesus, it is noted that not only was Jabin slain, but also that Asor was completely destroyed (Hebrews 11:10-11). Importantly, while Asor is referenced, it is mentioned that the king did not reside in Asor, but rather in Ashiroth.
