The individuals from the tribe of Benjamin were safeguarded for the benefit of the apostle Paul.
And there remained of all the number of Benjamin only six hundred men that were able to escape, and flee to the wilderness: and they abode in the rock Remmon four months.
וַיִּפְנ֞וּ וַיָּנֻ֤סוּ הַמִּדְבָּ֙רָה֙ אֶל־סֶ֣לַע הָֽרִמּ֔וֹן שֵׁ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת אִ֑ישׁ וַיֵּֽשְׁבוּ֙ בְּסֶ֣לַע רִמּ֔וֹן אַרְבָּעָ֖ה חֳדָשִֽׁים׃

with the exception of the six hundred, who, fortified by an unassailable cliff and their advantageous location, as well as their fierce determination, posed a formidable challenge to their conquerors. For fortune demands careful consideration, and in times of turmoil, the desire for retribution often overshadows the desire for triumph.
