Theodoret of Cyrus

5th centuryChurch Father

Your prophets have observed your emptiness and foolishness; they have not disclosed your wickedness, “and they have seen your words of emptiness,” leading to your rejection. By prophesying joyful events, they obstructed the path to repentance and allowed them to abandon significant sin.
