Theodoret of Cyrus
He prophesied favorable outcomes for Zion while pronouncing judgment upon Edom, declaring that she would face retribution. The Prophet concluded his mourning by stating, ‘It shall not be applied to this to destroy you’; for those who were taken captive experienced destruction in every form, succumbing to the authority of the Persians. Thus, the Prophet's lament reached its end. We will honor Him who created the human voice and imparts wisdom to mankind, for the significance of the words spoken by this Prophet has been revealed to us, and this understanding has been incorporated into the other prophetic writings, ensuring that, by His grace, no prophecy is left without interpretation.
