Theodoret of Cyrus
Why does a deceased body not defile unmoistened seed, yet renders moistened seed unclean (Lev. 11:37, 38)? This occurs because moisture allows the seed to absorb impurities.
But if any man pour water upon the seed, and afterwards it be touched by the carcasses, it shall be forthwith defiled.
