Six days shall ye do work: the seventh day, because it is the rest of the sabbath, shall be called holy. You shall do no work on that day: it is the sabbath of the Lord in all your habitations.

How ought we to observe the sabbath of days and the sabbath of sevens, which includes Pentecost, and the sabbath of seven years, specifically the seventh year, and the sabbath of fifty years, known as Jubilee, given that the Law is spiritual (Rom. 7:14)? We honor the seventh-day Sabbath when we refrain from doing evil. We also commemorate the sabbath of the seventh days as we turn away from harboring evil thoughts. Additionally, we acknowledge the sabbath of the seventh year when we no longer entertain lustful temptations, as it is a season when the fruits grow and desire for them arises.

The Jubilee is celebrated when we fully relinquish the memory of wrongdoing and the anxieties that stem from our expectations of the future; the Jubilee symbolizes the liberation of an animal from constraints or its rescue from distress. When a person achieves complete freedom from passionate desires, they are released from the chains of sin, and, free from anguish, joy fills their spirit. There are questions and dilemmas.
