The Church Fathers on this verse

One Church Father comments on this verse

Cyrill of Alexandria

5th centuryChurch Father

It is proclaimed, Let the people be summoned to the tabernacle by the sound of the trumpets: this signifies that through the proclamation of the trumpets, those who reside in their own tents are invited into the fellowship of the church. We encourage those who gather here to rise from their most disgraceful state to the rightful matters of the holy, and to fully guide them in transitioning from evil to good. Does not the Word direct the submissive and sincere lover of life in Christ toward soundness in doctrine and moral rectitude?
