In determining the most appropriate sequence for divine ceremonies, God places the Levitical system under the authority of the high priest, as conveyed in the book of Numbers: 'declare to the Levites and tell them .... and you shall not die.' Can you perceive the foreshadowing of Christ, portrayed in symbols and reflections? For 'he that receiveth tithes, ... gave tithes,' as expressed by the Apostle Paul (Hebrews 7:9). At that time, the representation was Melchizedek, during the era of Moses and Aaron, symbolizing the supreme priest - Christ, the Leader and Chief of the sacred tabernacle, known as the Church - the Holy of Holies, the Almighty, to whom we offer all our gifts; as it is written, 'all that are round about Him, let them bring gifts' (Psalms 75:12). However, the Mosaic covenant remained but a shadow; now the true guardians of the gospel's commands honor their Savior with spiritual offerings of the heart.

The Lord assigned a portion of all that they owned and the produce to the Levites. The individuals presented their tithes to the Levites, who then offered them to Aaron, and ultimately, Aaron dedicated them to God.
