The crossing of the Arnon River and the emergence of the first well had already ignited the creative spirit among the Israelite encampment, yet their triumph over Sihon provided even deeper inspiration. As a result, the victorious Israelites returned to their campsite, their songs of joy resonating throughout the expansive tent city. Among these hymns, one is recorded in scripture and stands as a notable example of the military anthems of the Israelites. This particular song was performed by two choirs, and its words were as follows: The first voice, seemingly taunting the Amorites, declared: "Come to Heshbon! Let the city of Sihon be built and secured, For fire has come forth from Heshbon, Flames from the city of Sihon, Consuming Ar-Moab, And those who dwell in the heights of Arnon!"
