While transporting the kebab, Hosea noticed it beginning to fall and extended his hand to catch it. As a Levite rather than a priest, he was reprimanded for attempting to handle the kebab, as only certain priests were authorized to bear it on their shoulders.

We need not question the reasons behind Hosea's profound affliction, whether it stemmed solely from a breach of the ceremonial law, aimed at instructing the high priest and the priests who had neglected it, or if it also involved some personal moral blemish unconnected to the ministry of the sanctuary. This is known only to the Heart of the Judge.
