Jehoshaphat designated instructors of the sacred law, along with priests, Levites, and leaders for the entire populace. In return for his devotion, he received blessings from the Lord God. It is noted, "And there was fear in all the kingdoms of the earth surrounding Judah, and they did not wage war against Jehoshaphat."
