Thus, setting aside the desire for dispute, it is more advantageous to seek repentance before that momentous day of judgment arrives, when, as foretold in the Scriptures, all the families will lament who have pierced this Messiah. I have clarified for you the significance of the prophecy: 'The Lord hath sworn, Thou art a priest after the order of Melchisedec' (Psalms 109:4). I have also cited the prophecy from Isaiah: His sepulchre is taken out of the midst (Isaiah 57:2), which pertains to Christ, who was destined to be buried and resurrected. Much has been said regarding this Christ, the Judge of the living and the dead.

Similarly, Nathan conveyed to David, saying, I will be a Father to him, and he shall be a son unto Me, and I will not withdraw My favor from him as I did from those who preceded him; I will establish him in My house and in His kingdom forever. Moreover, Ezekiel refers to this very Christ as the leader in the house. For He is the appointed Priest, the Everlasting King, the Anointed One, the Son of God. Do not assume that Isaiah and the other prophets imply that at His second coming bloody offerings or libations will be presented on the altar; rather, they speak of genuine and spiritual praises and thanksgiving.
