Theodoret of Cyrus

5th centuryChurch Father

Gabriel, noticing my fear had caused me to fall, first lifted me up and then reassured me, explaining that he had come to reveal, as I wished, what lay ahead and the forthcoming judgment of God upon my people. To alleviate my anxiety, he assured me that this would occur in its appointed time. He then provided interpretations of each vision I saw, stating, "The Ram that you observed with horns is the king of the Medes and Persians."
