Your compassion has persistently watched over us, communicating through the prophets, addressing kings and rulers, and reaching out to priests and educators—whom Daniel referred to as fathers—and on numerous occasions to the entire populace; yet, despite all this, we continued in our defiance. Hence, the prophet fittingly stated:
